Alice Hole NAPA, SGFA
Member of the National Acrylic Painters' Association (NAPA),
Member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA),
Alice's work is a personal reflection of her surroundings in the West of England. She is interested in the relationship between the people who have lived in the area for centuries and the rugged yet beautiful landscape. In her art, Alice explores how these communities have attempted to harness the land and sea for survival, focusing on the fishing, farming, and mining industries. She also examines the towns, harbours, and agricultural land that have developed around these industries.
Alice shines a light on the hidden corners of the West Country that many may overlook, aiming to capture the echoes of the past that are present within them. She emphasises details that others might miss, showcasing the character of this dramatic environment enriched by the unique Devon and Cornish light. Alice wants her audience to feel engaged with her artwork, inviting them to almost "walk into" a drawing or painting and imagine what lies just beyond their view, allowing them to create their own stories inspired by her pieces.
